The Extraordinary Street Art of the Waterford Walls Festival

Bonus Feature

I had no idea about this, and decided to make a special edition of the blog today to highlight all of the amazing wall paintings. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Find out more, and see more of the art, by clicking the article below. Bx

Here are 15 amazing examples of the street art I found on display in Waterford this morning. My favourites were mostly up near my AirBnB, a mile away from the main town, which surprised me. The first 8 are in this very quiet neighbourhood, within a block or two of my digs.

See the TV set? Great way to decorate ugly boxes on the street.
This was a pub…
with a lot of empty beer barrels.
Such a fantastic expression captured.
Ditto, same artist

The next set of 7 pieces were all down near the square where I played uke, or afterwards on the way out of town.

This one seemed to just float on the wall, not sure why or how.
Possibly conceived and executed with a pint in the artist’s hand?
I think this pre-dates the Wexford Walls project, but I kept it anyway.
I included this just because I was so tuned in to noticing wall paintings! Looks like the 1950s to me, judging by Elvis and the long football shorts.
One of my favourites, just as I left the centre of Waterford
